Adam O'Boyle, Co-Chair of Generation Change
Adam co-founded Student Hubs in September 2007 during a sabbatical from his degree at Oxford University, and rejoined as Executive Director upon graduating in July 2009. During that time Adam also worked as a part-time analyst for New Philanthropy Capital where he co-authored a research report entitled: ‘Critical masses: Social campaigning, a guide for donors and funders’. As Executive Director, Adam has led Student Hubs through a rapid expansion, whilst also in 2011 founding a successful social enterprise in Oxford – Turl Street Kitchen (TSK) – to fund its work with Students. The TSK restaurant was recently included in the Good Food Guide, whilst the whole venture has an annual turnover of over £1 million, provides community space for students, and houses the national offices of six charities including People & Planet. The breadth of student-led enterprises that have been incubated under Adam's leadership are brought under the auspice of Hub Ventures, which provides an accelerator for similar initiatives with promise.
